RESTORED FAITH IN HUMANITY

My mother let me walk all by myself to the store which is only a block away. She just told me to take her cell phone and to look both ways before crossing the street. On the way back from the supermarket, I see one of my friends from school. We are best friends and he tells me all of his secrets. His parents don’t care if he walks anywhere by myself, and sometimes I just want to be just like him. But when I meet up with him, he has a sad look on his face. The first thing he told me was that his parents are filing for bankruptcy. I don’t know what that means so I told him that he’s so lucky! I thought that it had to do something with money because it had the word “bank” in it. But he told me that he isn’t so lucky because he can’t get all of the toys he wants and his parents even take some away to sell them to make money. I told him that that’s not nice, and because he is my best friend I let him come over to my house to pick any toy that he would want for keeps. Really all of the rest of the toys are mine, but to make him happy I said that we could both share them.
