FAMOUS SPEAKER
So now I'm the most famous temp staffing speaker ever in the association. I took some time and prepared a talk. Roger can be quite the pain when things are not going his way. He called me everyday, and when I didn't return his calls he went right to Arnie and Clara. He knows them from way back. In fact, they once had some type of joint venture going. How that went, I don't know. It was way back in the 1980's. I guess they hashed it out and then I heard from them. First from Clara. She was reluctant, and coached me to say nothing about our own operations. Arnie as usual was more agreeable, but he didn't want me to spend a lot of time on it. He didn't see what we would get out of it, except my lost production. He laughed at this, but in a way I could tell he was serious. The message wasn't lost on me. I had to get my talk finished quickly. I'm almost thinking he wanted me to do it on my own time. I'm not a business owner, so I'm not going to take stuff like this home with me. It only took me two hours to throw the talk together.
