CUT AND DRY

I really think that I need some guidance; I thought this was going to be cut and dry.  I thought that a meter was a meter was a meter, but the sheer magnitude of glucose meter options is frightening.  There are standard types, continuous types, non invasive types and tons of varieties of each type.  The costs range from as little as nothing, depending on what type of insurance you have, all the way up to several hundreds of dollars for the latest top of the line technology.  I don’t want to go too cheap and end up with something that is very hard to use or that isn’t accurate or that won’t last; but I also don’t want to spend a fortune on something that’s loaded with unnecessary options or just too technical for me to understand.  I think I’ll give my doctor a call to see if he can make a good recommendation for something that will more than cover my needs but not put me in the poor house.  I’m the elder statesman of the family, and was the first one diagnosed so I don’t have any relatives that can help to guide me through with their experiences.
