The Beauty of Art Today

I’m so excited! I just got a job that sells antique art in Chicago! I am a big fan of all things antique, but art is my absolute favorite. I feel like I can connect with the artist of so long ago when I really look at the art. It’s so much better then the art produced nowadays. Now, anyone can just make a bunch of scribbles on a page and get paid thousands of dollars for it! And they call themselves artists. The only thing I have for nowadays artists is disgust. They have no right to have fame or fortune. They take everything that art truly is and destroys it in their messy scrawls. I myself am not the best artist, but at least I can accept that fact. I don’t need to pretend I’m good at it by doodling and getting someone to sell it for me. And what kind of person actually buys that trash? Don’t they appreciate real art? Can’t they understand that what they are getting is a poor imitation of art and a good imitation of childish scribble? I guess some people I will never understand. And I guess some people will never understand art!
